Where’s the Love?

Answer me this, what is easier for you to do - love others or love yourself? For most of us, loving other people and giving to other people is a lot easier than directing that kindess inward towards ourselves. If I were to ask you, how do you talk to yourself? What would you say? Does that question alone make you feel uncomfortable? Would you even feel comfortable to say outloud some of the things you say to yourself? Most likely not.

For many of us, something happens to us along this road of life that invites us to start attacking and shaming ourselves. Odds are, for most of us, the bullying likely came from the outside first and overtime we eventually internalized it until we became our own worst bullying nightmare. What do you think of when you hear the term self-love? (Insert joke here about how the term self-love lowkey reminds you of masterbation but you don't want to say it.) Okay, well, now that that's over... Self-love is a concept that is easier said and often much harder to implement. Self-love means liking yourself and caring for yourself.

Queen once asked c aaaaaan anybody find me somebody to love? 🎶

Well this February aka tomorrow (or today depending on when you're reading this) I am serving up a 🔥 answer to Queen's question by kicking off a self-love/self-care challenge and I'd love for you to participate!

Self-love and self-care are not a "woo woo" concepts. Those of you who have been around here for awhile know that the origins of self-care reveal that the concept really asks you to be an ally to yourself. This month, I am inviting you to take time each day to be an ally to yourself. To guide us, I created a calendar with daily tasks that will be our guide. All you have to do to get started is (1) download or print the calendar and (2) give me a shout 📣 tolet me know you're participating. Every day this month, check your calendar and do your daily task. If you do participate, I'd love to hear how things are going for you.

I am so looking forward to this challenge and I really hope you'll join me!
